Texas Physical Therapy Association: SIGN THE PETITION FOR PATIENT ACCESS TO PHYSICAL THERAPY
Often referred to as Direct Access, Patient Access to Physical Therapists for treatment currently requires a referral from either a physician, dentist, chiropractor, podiatrist, physician assistant, or an advanced nurse practitioner of any type (midwives, clinical specialists, FNPs). Yet those specifically trained in this area are unable to refer or directly treat consumers for physical therapy. It is time to change the law in Texas.
